Joanne Conman is an independent scholar, trained as an anthropologist, who discovered how the ancient Egyptian decan zodiac worked. Her paired rising stars model is the only demonstrably correct model for the decans.

She has been researching and writing about ancient Egypt and the decan stars for over fifteen years and has published several papers in scholarly journals, as well as authoring several general interest articles. Her book, Ancient Egyptian Sky Lore: Rethinking the Conventional Wisdom , explores the misidentification of the planets in ancient Egypt.
